Handmade audiophile turntables

Your story,
turned at 33⅓.

Evergrain builds turntables from wood that already means something. A tree you stood beneath in a country you still dream about. Boards from the house where you grew up. A branch from the maple planted the spring your children were born.

Wood with a memory

Some wood carries more than grain.

Every plinth begins with a conversation about where the wood came from and why it matters to you. We listen first. Then we build something you will hear every day.

Weathered barn boards and an old floorboard on a workbench beside a freshly planed board with golden grain

From your travels

Timber native to a place that changed you. Koa from the islands, olive from a Tuscan hillside, teak from a monsoon coast. We source it with care and record where it grew.

From the family home

Floorboards, a barn beam, a mantel, the kitchen table. Old wood that has already heard your family's voices for a lifetime.

From a tree you planted

A branch from the oak planted the year your children were born, or a trunk taken down by a storm. The years in its rings become the years in your music.

Two forms

Two shapes. One story at a time.

The traditional plinth

Heirloom

A classic form, shaped with restraint so the wood does the talking. Solid, dense and tuned to keep the stylus in quiet company with the record. Suited to boards, beams and rare timber alike.

The live-edge family

Roots

A cross section of a trunk or branch, bark line intact and every ring on display. Roots is made only from trees that were removed or fell by natural causes. No tree is ever cut down to make one.

Every Evergrain turntable also receives a name of its own, chosen with the person who will keep it.

Inside the wood

Built to be heard, not only seen.

The motor, bearing, platter, tonearm and cartridge come from respected high-end audio makers, matched to the mass and character of each plinth.

Already own a turntable you love?

We can move its heart into your wood. When the plinth can be built to fit its motor, bearing and arm properly, your donor deck becomes part of the new piece, and part of its story.

Every turntable keeps its story.

Each finished piece will be shown here with its name, where its wood came from and, with their permission, the people who keep it. The first stories are being gathered now.
